The cost of add-ons will depend on their scope. We will take requirements from you and provide a quote before you commit to anything.
Are there any other costs?
Web hosting (required)
Our websites need somewhere to live online - web hosting. Our industry standard in-house hosting solution costs $189/£150 per year and includes speed optimisation tools, security certificate and a CDN. We will set it up for you and you won't have to do anything.
Domain name (required)
Domain names are usually around only $15 per year. We recommend buying one from hover.com or Google, so it's easy to integrate with an email account.
Email address (optional)
Look professional with an email address that uses your domain. We recommend using hover.com ($20 per year) or Google Workspace ($6 per month). We'll help you get set up with one of these.
Copywriting (optional)
You will need to provide text (copy) for the website. We will make it clear exactly what you need to provide. If you don't want to write your own copy, we can connect you with a copywriter through our network of trusted industry professionals.
Your website will also need to be kept up-to-date from time to time. It’s easy to learn how to do this, or you can use our occasional maintenance service.
How does it work?

Supply content
We'll ask you for the text (we call it copy) you'd like to have on each page. Our demo website will give you an indication of the sections you should provide, but we can accommodate other sections too.
We'll also ask you for images of yourself (if you don't have any we'll select some stock photography along a theme we will discuss with you, though we highly recommend getting a professional photoshoot).
We'll also discuss what colour scheme you'd like and if you'd like to use a different font.

What platform are your website kits built on?
Our website kits are built on WordPress. This is because we believe WordPress to offer the best combination of customisation options and ease of use. WordPress is endlessly flexible, so we believe it’s the best platform to evolve with you as your business grows.
What happens if I want to amend my website later?
Because we build our websites using popular and well-loved tools, it’s quite possible that you can update your own site if you take a bit of time to learn how. It’s not hard, but if you do not wish to update your own site then we are happy to undertake the work for you, charged by the hour.
Who owns my website?
You do! It’s completely yours and you are free to do what you like with it.
Do I need to do anything to maintain my website once its up and running?
WordPress websites need to be kept up-to-date. The most important tasks include updating plugins, updating the theme and updating WordPress itself. It’s quite possible to learn how to do this yourself, or alternatively you can purchase a maintenance package from us, and we’ll take care of it for you. Ask about our maintenance packages to learn more.
Are there any extra costs I should know about?
You will need to purchase web hosting and a domain name for your website. Both are inexpensive and we can take care of this for you if you like. We also recommend that website owners ensure their sites are kept up-to-date. It’s possible to learn how to do this but you might want to pay a professional to do it so you don’t have to bother. In that case, ask us about our website maintenance plans.
What about hackers - will my website be secure?
Basically, yes it will, but there is a caveat. We make our websites with good security high on our list of priorities, but it’s very important you do not let plugins, the theme and WordPress itself become out of date by not updating them regularly. That’s why we offer a maintenance package, though you can learn how to do this yourself.

Do I need web hosting?
Yes, you will need to purchase web hosting for your website. To summarise the essentials, web hosting can cost just a few pounds or dollars per month, and for many sites this is all you’ll need to spend. For projects with larger numbers of site visitors, investing more in good hosting is well worth it. We offer excellent value web hosting ourselves – ask us to find out more.
How do I get a domain name?
Domain names are sold online by numerous vendors. Our preferred place to buy domain names is hover.com. They have great customer service and include an identity protection service that many other places charge for. Feel free to speak to us if you need advice on your domain name.
